A\"culture_night_logo_aw\"rmagh Public Library and No 5 Vicars\u2019 Hill will be open from 6.00pm to 9.30pm to participate in Armagh\u2019s Culture Night on 16 September 2016.\u00a0 Visitors will see inside these two eighteenth century buildings in the evening light, and view items on display, including a new exhibition in the Library on Shakespeare and his work. At the same time visitors will be able to enjoy performances of music and the spoken word.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Library and No 5 said, \u201cThis will be a lovely opportunity to hear music in both buildings by members of the Arts Care Choir, Armagh Pipers\u2019 Club and Armagh Old Boys\u2019 Band, who will perform at different times throughout the evening.\u00a0 In association with the John Hewitt Society, we will also host a reading in the Library\u2019s Long Room by the author, Michael Hughes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having opened both buildings for the European Heritage Open Days last weekend, Culture Night provides a further reason to reveal the Library as \u2018the healing place of the soul\u2019, No 5 as a \u2018hidden gem of collections and curiosities\u2019, and to do so with the addition of music and reading.<\/p>\n
