{"id":16610,"date":"2021-02-13T10:37:55","date_gmt":"2021-02-13T10:37:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/demo.brandingbay.com\/ARL\/?p=16610"},"modified":"2021-02-17T11:55:23","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T11:55:23","slug":"playful-museums-festival-at-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/demo.brandingbay.com\/ARL\/playful-museums-festival-at-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Playful Museums Festival at 5!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/playfulmuseums\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Playful Museums Festival<\/a> is five years old this year, having been held each February since 2017.\u00a0 Armagh Robinson Library and No 5 Vicars\u2019 Hill have taken part every year and will do so this time, if a little differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The 2021 Festival has been altered to respond to the challenges of Covid-19. Five museums in Northern Ireland will engage with the under five-year-olds virtually at #NIPlayfulMuseums. Armagh Robinson Library and No 5 Vicars\u2019 Hill forms one of the five participating museums and has called its input \u2018A Playful Museum through a Child\u2019s Eyes\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Thanks to funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimc.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northern Ireland Museums Council<\/a> and professional input by local company McCusker Pro Audio, two separate videos have been produced to show No 5 and the Library. One video features the Registry Officer, Stephen Day, in No 5 Vicar\u2019s Hill, while the other shows the Library with the Visitor Engagement Officer, Rachel Toner and Assistant Keeper, Carol Conlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Playful Museums No 5 Vicars Hill 5\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/511607400?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Playful Museums Armagh Robinson Library 4\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/511548595?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In speaking about the videos, Carol said, \u201cWe want to remind families that we are a playful museum and that the under 5s and their families will be welcome to visit us once more when we re-open to the public. In the meantime, our videos encourage children to look for objects in their own home or play group or school and then we show them similar objects in our buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She continued, \u201cOver the years we have involved illustrators, story tellers, puppeteers and musicians to work with us for our Playful Museums Festival events.
